Ligue1+ app enables AI-dubbed commentary in Italian

The 2026 edition of the Trophée des Champions, which is being held in Kuwait on the 8th of January, will become the first European football match to feature AI-translated commentary.  

Fans in Italy will be able to enjoy Italian language commentary, translated from French, live as the action happens on Ligue 1+.

Assisted by CAMB.AI, a leading player in the AI-translation space, the project represents the first time a European football match will be translated live in such a manner. 

The project serves as the latest step in LFP Media’s efforts to develop French football in international markets. Ligue 1+, our direct-to-consumer streaming service was launched in Italy in September 2025, and is currently available for €9.99 a month. Organized in conjunction with the Kuwait Football Association, this match, pitting Paris Saint-Germain against Olympique de Marseille, will be held at the Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium in Kuwait City. Kick off will be at 19:00 Italian time, and at 21:00 local time.
