Position Overview
The Project Manager in Publishing will be the central engine of our production pipeline. You will oversee the end-to-end journey of a title—from initial manuscript ingestion to final delivery—ensuring that all stakeholders (Production Co-ordinators, tech teams, and freelancer / vendors) meet CAMB.AI’s rigorous standards for quality and narrative fidelity. The ideal candidate is a highly organized leader who can balance technical AI workflows with traditional editorial excellence.
Key Responsibilities
1. End-to-End Pipeline Management
- Lifecycle Oversight: Track and manage the complete lifecycle of publishing projects from receiving file through final release-ready delivery.
- Workflow Optimization: Contribute to process improvements and coordinate between the R&D team to constantly improve the publishing workflow.
- Resource Allocation: Assign titles to Production Co-ordinators and manage the freelance vendor network to hit monthly capacity targets.
- Create and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans - Evaluate and implement new localization tools and technologies
- Generate regular reports on project status, quality metrics, and cost analysis - Provide training and guidance to team members on localization best practices
2. Vendor & Stakeholder Coordination
- Vendor Performance: Use error documentation and feedback logs from the QA team to score vendor performance and ensure high-quality output.
- Onboarding & Training: Facilitate the onboarding of new freelancers and vendors, clarifying CAMB.AI’s internal guidelines and technical expectations.
- Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for external partners, resolving doubts and ensuring corrections are implemented efficiently.
3. Quality Strategy & Compliance
- Standard Setting: Collaborate with the Business Director and vendors to update master guidelines and define the "minimum quality threshold" for all publishing products.
- Technical Excellence: Ensure all projects meet industry-best technical standards, including volume levels, peak amplitude, and bit rate compliance for audiobooks.
- Complex Material Audit: Oversee the QC process for complex materials (e.g., Science, Maths, or Encyclopedias) to ensure 100% technical accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience: 3–5 years of experience in publishing project management, audiobook production, or editorial operations. Experience managing remote freelance teams is essential.
- Language & Editorial Skills: Strong command of English and at least one regional language (Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, etc.). A deep understanding of phonetics, grammar, and narrative structure is preferred.
- Operational Excellence: Proven ability to manage high-volume workflows (50+ manuscripts/month) with extreme attention to detail.
- Technical Savvy: Comfortable with digital collaboration tools, task management systems, and basic text editing softwares.
- Leadership: Strong empathetic communication skills with a focus on training, supporting, and motivating a global talent pool.
