As Linguist (AI Translation & Model Quality) at CAMB.AI you will play a critical role in shaping, testing, and improving the core quality of our translation and voice AI models. Beyond reviewing AI-generated outputs, you will work upstream with machine learning teams to teach models, identify systemic weaknesses, and debug linguistic issues early in the development lifecycle.

You will leverage your linguistic expertise to validate model behavior across languages, provide structured feedback that directly informs model training, and help ensure that linguistic issues are addressed before they reach production. Your work will directly impact model reliability, scalability, and global user trust.

Key Responsibilities

• Review AI-generated translations for accuracy, fluency, and cultural appropriateness, ensuring high-quality localized content.
• Working directly on "teaching ML models" and "debugging issues in translation / voice AI models.
• Provide detailed, actionable feedback to improve translation quality and guide AI model enhancements.
• Assist with data annotation tasks to support the development and refinement of language models.
• Conduct research on linguistic nuances, grammatical structures, and language-specific rules to deepen understanding and improve translation outcomes.
• Collaborate with technology and product teams to share insights and suggest improvements for translation tools and workflows.
• Stay updated on best practices in translation, localization, and AI language technology.

Required Skills & Experience

• Fluent in English.
• Native or advanced fluency in Japanese/ Chinese/ Indic languages (Bengali, Telugu, Urdu).
• A language certificate from a recognized institute (unless you are a native speaker).
• Strong understanding of translation, localization, and linguistic quality assurance processes.
• Experience with CAT tools, data annotation platforms, or video/audio editing software is preferred.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and feedback skills.
• Attention to detail and a passion for language technology and AI-driven solutions.
